I want to become a police officer. I will be starting college this fall and I can't decide if I should major in Criminal Justice or English. I am also interested in teaching but my dream is to become a police officer. Would Criminal Justice or English be better? I want to get a Bachelor degree.

I would definitely major in English! Criminal justice is good too, but I would go for the English major. You can become an excellent writer which would help you as a police officer. You could teach English part-time or after you retire. You could always take a couple of Criminal Justice classes too.

Yeah I would say English just in case things don't work out in Law Enforcement. It's not an easy field to get into unless you know the right people (the good ole boy system). And if you do get into LE you'll have an easier time articulating your actions in your reports.
