I'm getting to old to keep waiting I've been trying for years was working for a sheriff's department back in 2000-2003 but I moved out of state and ever since it has been difficult getting back into Law Enforcement.

How old is too old?

Your post isn't really a question but I think I got your point. Why not try a related field such as security or EMS until you can become a police officer?

I'm in my mid 30's, I have been trying to get back into the field for about 7 years. I don't remember it being this difficult getting hired on by a department.

It's probably the economy. It's hard to get a job right now anywhere.
Counties across the county are short on money so don't hire nearly
as much as they used to every hiring period.

The economy has made it more difficult at least recently.
