Do police officers have to get Tased during training?

It depends. Sometimes they do, and sometimes they don't. There is no requirement from the company, and there is no law requiring officers to be Tased in order to be certified to carry or use a Taser. However, some departments require their officers to be Tased as part of their training.

My dept. required us to be Tased during our initial training when we first got Tasers. It wasn't fun

We also had to take a hit. And yes, it wasn't fun! But, it makes you appreciate the Taser more.

We had the option of getting Tased or not. 3 officers out of 21 chose not to get Tased. They got harassed for the next several months for wimping out

I've been Tased three times. I'm a Taser instructor.

Many police departments make their officers get "tased". Know that it is NOT fun!
