Is there still such a thing as postal police? I can't find much information about them. Thanks!

The United States Postal Police is a uniformed police force that work in and around selected high-risk postal facilities in major metropolitan areas in the United States and its territories. Postal Police Officers provide a visible deterrent at postal facilities located primarily in urban high-crime areas. They respond to emergencies and other calls for service or reports of crimes such as disturbances, assaults, theft, robberies and other incidents threatening the safety of postal employees and customers.

Postal police are police, but from what I understand, they perform more security related duties on a regular basis. I think they have a pretty good job though.

It's a great job if you can get it. My neighbor used to be a Postal Police Officer. He had it made.

I heard they're glorified security guards. But I'd be glad to have the job!

US Postal Police Officers are federal police officers. They are the uniformed side of the US Postal Inspection Service (the oldest federal law enforement agency). In addition to what "FED" mentioned, they also patrol around checking Post Offices around the cities of their assigned division. Sorry but they are not glorified security guards. Don't believe that hype. The only way in at the moment is to have 1 year working for the Post Office.

You should look into becoming a Postal Inspector. Although you need a bachelor degree, and I don't think they're hiring right now anyway.
