Hi, I have had a pacemaker ever since I was two weeks old. I was wondering how this could affect my chances of getting hired? My fitness is good, but how will I do on the medical? I am currently getting a Criminal Justice degree, so if I can't become a Police officer, what are some other great oppertunitie that are police related can I pursue while having a pacemaker?

I was something out and about, not in a lab (mainly because I am terrible at science)

I'm not certain, but I would guess that you might not be able to become a police officer. However, there are many other important and interesting jobs that you could probably get. Some police departments have evidence technicians that are not police officers. The federal government has many positions that might interest you. There are positions such as consumer safety inspector, seized property specialist, investigations technician, security specialist (risk management), compliance investigator, and investigative analyst. There are probably lots of good jobs that you would qualify for. As others have. Make sure that you do the best that you can while earning your degree. Get the highest GPA that you can, and get at least a bachelor degree!

You might be able to consider becoming a police dispatcher. My uncle is a police dispatcher, and he likes it.
